Board of Directors Meeting Minutes
September 9, 2002 6:30 p.m. at Barnes & Noble

Attendance: Kirk Malmer, Kelli Wadley, Ed Smith, Doug Wadley, Tammy Malmer, Jeff Gindy, Kerry O’Connell, Brian Rogers, Marla Krutsinger, John Krincek, and Dave Diveley

Committee Reports:

A.     Grounds— Kirk plans to talk with the mowing company to see about sod prices to fix the holes in the fields once the season is over.

-A request was received from Cubmaster Jim Smith about once again using the Dynamo Fields for Cub Scout Olympics on 9/22. John made a motion to allow them to use the fields, Brian seconded.  Kirk will check the traveling schedule to see what areas are open and let Jim know.

B.     Equipment— Trophies have been ordered.

C.     Coaches—Appreciation was expressed to the referees for shortening the time and giving water breaks during the heat.

D.    Registration—IYSA info is due 9/30.

E.      Publicity—Mr. McClure from Grease Spot would be interested in donating money for another refrigerator in exchange for a sign promoting his business. Discussion took place regarding size, placement, price, and longevity. Ed will call him to express board concerns and see exactly what he has in mind.

-Kerry made a motion to pay $100 for a full-page ad in the Old Mill program. Dave seconded. Motion carried.

F.      Sponsors— No report.

G.     Fundraising—Collection of the orders went well. Early indication is that we could be close to last year. Delivery is 9/28 and money is due 10/5.

H.     Concessions— Coke was to get us a double cooler and hasn’t as of yet. We are having difficulty keeping up with the demand due to the heat. Sandy will call Coke about vending machine, as it is not working either. Brian will contact Jason Worby about the double cooler.

I.        Team Parents—No report.

J.       Referees—No report.

K.    Pictures—No report.

L.      Building—Final work needs to be finished up for Health Dept. inspection.

Officer Reports:

A.     Treasurer- No report.

B.     Parent Rep-Nothing to report

C.     Secretary-Currently in contact with IYSA regarding insurance coverage and payment. They are mailing papers out and we should have them by the start of next week.

D.     Vice President-Nothing to report

E.      President-No further report.

New Business:

-Our current lease is good through 10/2003. Jeff Gindy and Ed will contact BBCHS about renewing the lease.

-Old Mill Tournament is scheduled for November 2-3. It was decided that Dynamo would hold tryouts for 6 teams: 3 in the co-ed division and 3 in the new girls’ division. Board decided to continue with the Dynamo policy that any youth that participates on a traveling team is ineligible for the Old Mill teams. Possible coaches were discussed with priority given to Board members. Head coaches will be allowed to select their own assistants. Tryouts were scheduled for October 6th and 13th.

-The need for uniforms for the Old Mill teams was discussed. It was decided that red would be the color. John will get uniform prices and check timeline. Perhaps businesses would sponsor. Price info will be sent out via email.

-End of season tournament schedule is in the works. Blind draw for match ups and pool assignments was held. John made a motion to change the championship game from a full-length game to 20-minute halves due to the time issue and the number of games played in one day. Doug seconded, motion passed.

-Kelli made a motion that elections be held this year for the Secretary, Treasurer, and Parent Representative. Terms would be for 2 years. President and Vice-President would be elected in 2003. John seconded. Motion passed.

-Kerry made a motion that elections be held on 10/5. Dave seconded. Motion passed.
